Fixed bike @ Corners

It was one of the issues that have made me to postpone start to ride a Fixed...

I read some articles about Fixed Bikes and all of them bring this advice, so I was a bit afraid to have some problems at the curves...

One of the first things we learn while starting to ride bicycles is that at the corners or curves we need to take car with the pedals position, because they can touch the ground. It´s a kind of action that after learned became automatic and never more we need to remember… So, this is the reason we need to take extra care now.

Our mind sees the corner and knows that just before arrive there, it will run the command to keep the pedals at the 03/09h. Easy! But, at the corner, your legs try to stop the pedals and they don´t accept the command and keep running! Oh shit!

After start to ride, I could learn that is not so dificult to turn at the corners or curves.
I think the aproach to the corners is easier, as they are short, and is possible to postpone the curve to the best moment. And the best moment is just after the inner pedal ( related to the curve side) leave the 6h position. If was possible to finish the curve while the inner pedal is spinning the whole circunference, OK. If not, you will need to reduce the inclination of the bike, swinging it again to the vertical position while the inner pedal pass near the ground.Take care: It will be possible only at slow speeds!
